The arts play a significant role in our learning environment and have a rich history at Northeast Elementary. Students attend weekly Art and Music classes that enhance their learning throughout other subject areas. Special art projects such as Night At The Museum create not only a love of art, but a cooperative project of students working together. Art Club, Band, Choir, and Orchestra are offered before school for students who have an interest in furthering their love of art and music. Students attend weekly classes in these areas and give several performances and art shows throughout the school year.
The Northeast Elementary Soaring Eagle Choir is a group of 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who love to sing, and is one of the largest elementary choirs in the district. These students come before school two times a week to rehearse. The choir gives several performances throughout the school year for staff, students, parents, friends, and the greater community. The choir is open to any Northeast student who has a love of singing.
The Northeast Band and Orchestra program is available to any 4th or 5th grade student. These students attend weekly rehearsals and have several performance opportunities throughout the school year. Students select the instrument they are most interested in playing from the violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, french horn, trombone, baritone, tuba, or percussion.
