Round two is open from 1.22.24 to 8.1.24 at 4PM. 

 

Round one offers from schools, that were not accepted were rolled to the school's second round waitlist.

Round two offers will be emailed to the parents email address used in Open Enrollment, please be sure to check your email inbox  and or SPAM folder weekly. Schools fill seats as they become available by grade, in the order the student is on that schools waitlist. Please see FAQ's below. Offers of enrollment are not guaranteed and are based on space available.

First Round Open Enrollment is not first come. First round is now closed for the 24/25 school year, it closed on December 1st at 4:00pm. Schools extended offers of open enrollment based on space availability by December 7th. Parents saw offers in the EngagED Parent Portal on December 11th at 8:00 am and had until December 18th at 4:00 pm, to log back in and accept any open enrollment offers. In the event you did not receive any offers during First Round, you will remain on a waitlist for Second Round of Open Enrollment, which opens on January 22nd at 8:00 am.

 

If you are open enrolled at a neighborhood school or attend a charter but would like to return to the neighborhood school associated with your address for the next school year (24/25) you must file an intent to return form by January 10, 2024. If you miss this date please open enroll.

Intent to return does not apply if you are home schooling, attending an out of district school or private school. Please reach out directly to your assigned school.

Outside Agencies

Complaints regarding violations of Title VI, (race, national origin), Title IX (sex, gender), Section 504/ADA (handicap or disability), may be filed directly with the Office for Civil Rights, U.S. Department of Education, 1244 North Speer Blvd., Suite 310, Denver, CO 80204. Complaints regarding violations of Title VII (employment) and the ADEA (prohibiting age discrimination in employment) may be filed directly with the Federal Office of Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, 303 E. 17th Ave., Suite 510, Denver, CO 80202, or the Colorado Civil Rights Commission, 1560 Broadway, Suite 1050, Denver, CO 80202.

NOTICE OF DESTRUCTION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS

Special Education records which have been collected by Douglas County School District related to the identification, evaluation, educational placement, or the provision of special education in the district, must be maintained under state and federal laws for the period of five (5) years after special education services have ended for the student. Special education services end when the student is no longer eligible for services, graduates, or completes his/her educational program at age 21, or moves from the district. This notification is to inform parents/guardians and former students of Douglas County School District's intent to destroy the special education records of students who exited special education services as of June 30, 2016. These records will be destroyed in accordance with state law unless the parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student notifies the school district otherwise. After five years, the records are no longer useful to the district, but may be useful to the parent/guardian or former student in applying for social security benefits, rehabilitation services, college entrance, etc. The parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student may request a copy of the records by requesting the records at this link ( Douglas County School District Transcripts and Records Requests ).
