A Message from Principal Lara Bennett

Lara Bennett, Principal of Northeast Elementary

Hello! My name is Lara Bennett, and I am proud to serve as principal of Northeast Elementary. Having previously served as assistant principal, I have developed a deep appreciation for our caring and dedicated community of students, families, teachers and staff. It is a privilege to be part of such a special school.

I live in Castle Rock and have spent much of my career with Douglas County School District, serving as an intermediate classroom teacher, interventionist, instructional coach and administrator. I hold bachelor's degrees in communication studies and education, as well as a master's degree in education and instructional leadership.

My career in education began in Minnesota, where I taught fourth grade before moving to Colorado in 2007. Since then, I have taught fourth and fifth grades, supported students as a math and reading interventionist and worked alongside teachers as a K–6 instructional coach. Each of these experiences has shaped my approach to educational leadership and strengthened my commitment to student success.

Throughout my career, I have sought opportunities to make a meaningful impact on student growth and achievement while building strong relationships with students, families and staff. I am passionate about supporting high-quality instruction that prepares students not only for academic success, but also to become responsible, compassionate and engaged citizens.

I grew up in Northern Michigan, where I developed a lifelong love of the outdoors, especially skiing. I enjoy hiking, running 5Ks and spending time in the mountains. Outside of school, you can often find me reading, gardening, traveling, attending ballets and concerts or spending time with friends and family. I am also the proud parent of my son, Jack, who lives in New York City.

As principal, my goal is to empower our staff and build upon Northeast's strong foundation as a Professional Learning Community. I am committed to ensuring all students acquire the knowledge and skills they need to reach their full potential. Just as importantly, I value the strong partnerships we share with Northeast families and the Mountain View Elementary community.

I look forward to continuing to learn, grow and celebrate the many accomplishments of our Northeast Eagles!
